The Sport Berkey on the Go Solution

Taking water filtering portability to an all new level was our goal when we developed the Sport Berkey filtering bottle. The ability of Berkey to take water from untreated outside sources of and convert it to healthy good tasting drinking water is legendary. Until the introduction of the Sport Berkey this world famous ability was only available in a system that required a stationary place to set the unit. These units relied on gravity to push water through thre purification medium. With the introduction of the Sport, niether of these requirements are true. This portable sport bottle relies on pressure developed from squeezing. This pressure is much greater than the pressure created from gravity alone. This added pressure allowed us to make the purification element small enough to fit inside a sport bottle. Having the ability to filter water from an outside source offers a huge advantage to your on the go lifestyle. Lets say for example you were planning a hiking trip for the day. During high activity events like hiking you would be required to consume as much as twice the amount of water you would normally have to. The amount of water would be about 1 gallon or more and would weigh at least eight pounds. If you were using the sport Berkey you could start your hike with only 22 ounces of water and it from an outside source like a stream, river, lake or pond. having this ability to get hydration as you go would lighten your load by almost seven pounds. Another advantage of the Sport bottle is that it allows you to have healthy water that is free of chemicals like chlorine no matter where you are. I live in Crested Butte Colorado. This area is great if you love outdoor activities like I do. Every weekend I take off and hike or mountain bike in the beautiful mountains that surround this great place. I heard about the Sport Berkey from a friend that went with me on one of my outings. I was carrying a camelback water storage backpack. This thing was very heavy but it was what I needed to keep me from getting thirsty while I was sweating so much and doing all of that hard breathing. All he had was a small Berkey Water Bottle and he stopped at the many stream crossings and refilled it. He carried absolutly nothing and the bottle fit in his bike rack. I spent hundreds of extra dollars to purchase a mountain bike that weighed 5 pounds less than my old bike and this guy spent 30 bucks and accomplished the same thing. I would never go back to a hydration pack. This Sport Berkey is great and I would recommend one to anybody.
