We have the Berkey Light and have been using it for eight years now. We use around 5 gallons a week and it has been a great product. We(my wife) used to buy water by the gallon at the store but what a waste of money! We have saved thousands. It was a wedding gift from my brother and it has turned out to be the best gift we received. I have recommended it to several friends as well, who purchased them. At first the cost seems a bit high but compared to the cartridge filters or by the gallon, this is a far better deal. We have terrible tasting water here but the Berkey turns it into better tasting water than the water by the gallon jugs.

I just received my Berkey Light and I had some thoughts I would like to share. Berkey offers several different models and the process of deciding on which one was best for my needs was confusing. This process was not made much easier because of the fact that so many places sale the Berkey. Each store presents the information in a little different manner and frankly there is a lot of information that is flat out false. I looked at probably 15 different Berkey sites and found only 3 or 4 I would trust. This site in particular is the only site I found that had the lifetime warranty, I don't believe the manufacturer (berkeywater.com)even offers this, however it was a good source of information. What I found was that the Berkey Light was by far the most economical way to go. It was comparable to the Royal Berkey in size but for the four filter model it was $60 dollars cheaper. I have a friend with a Stainless unit and I must admit it is a nicer looking unit and the stainless seems to be a little better quality but I was looking for economy becuase I am planning on storing the system in case of emergency. The lid on the Berkey Light was made of cloth, that seems a little strange but I guess it will work fine for keeping dust and bugs out of the water. Overall I am happy with the Berkey Light if I was wanting a show piece I may have went with the Royal.
